Duquette Sports Initiative Boys’ Basketball Camp is the perfect opportunity to get a step ahead of the competition, improve every aspect of your game, and have fun! Boys and girls ages 8-15 interested in a weeklong opportunity to improve their basketball skills in a safe and supportive teaching atmosphere. Coaches will focus on fundamentals of shooting, passing, ball handling, dribbling, basketball IQ, individual and team defense. We will also introduce the basics of fast break offense, which will be taught and developed in drills and live game situations. Highlighting the week, will be competitions, and a round robin tournament on Friday. Teams/drills will be divided based on ages/abilities. The Contests, competitions, basketball videos, lake front usage, and other fun activities will enhance the daily camp routine.
Coaches Bio
Wahconah Boys’ Basketball Coach Dustin Belcher joins us for a week of basketball camp at the Duquette Sports Initiative this summer. Coach Belcher has been the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach for the past 3 seasons at Wahconah, leading them to the Sectional Semi Final round this past season and knocking off the #1 seed in Western Mass. during the playoffs. Coach Belcher also lead the Warriors to the Sectional Finals in 2015 ending a 12 year draught for Wahconah. Prior to 2014, Coach Belcher served as an assistant boys basketball coach at Wahconah for 13 seasons. Coach Belcher’s teams are known for playing tough defense, being fundamentally sound, and playing unselfish team basketball.
