Duquette Sports Initiative Tournament FAQ's

How Do I Enroll My Team

Coaches can reserve a guaranteed spot for your team with payment of the team fee: $725 for most Weekend Tournaments / or $850 for Memorial Day & Holiday Tournaments. Payments for the per person weekend fees are not due until one month in advance of each event, which allows teams and families plenty of time to plan and fundraise. Space is limited – so we strongly suggest that you plan ahead and reserve your space early. Payment of your team fee is a firm commitment to attend the tournament and is none refundable.

For more information or to register your team, Call Alec Maurer at  (772) 466-4099

Hotels For Parents

Hotel room blocks have been set aside for our tournament teams at several local hotels in the Pittsfield, Lenox & Lee areas. Most of these properties are 15 – 20 minutes away from our facility and near many of the area restaurants, shops and attractions.

Hotel reservations can be made by contacting the following hotels directly:

  • Crowne Plaza 413-499-2000
  • Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort  413-738-5500 X 3010
  • Days Inn  413-637-3560
  • Howard Johnson  413-442-4000

Be sure to mention you will be participating in a Dan Duquette Sports Academy Tournament to be eligible for group rates. We strongly encourage you to have your team parents book hotels early (several months in advance), as space is limited and summer is the peak tourist season in the Berkshires.

2012 Age Determination Chart

Match the month of your birthday with the year in which you were born.  Follow the row over to the AGE column to determine your age group for 2012.

Spring & Summer Tournaments:  The age of a player on April 30, 2012 will be their eligibility age for spring and summer tournaments up thru August 19th..

Fall Tournaments:
All Fall (Sept & Oct) Tournaments will use April 30, 2013 as the cut-off date.  This means that players will “move up” one age group for the fall season.

Example:  A player born in September of 1999 will play in the 12U age group for the spring and summer tournaments but would “move up” to 13U for the fall tournaments.

Arrival & First Game

Teams should arrive one to two hours before your first game on the arrival day with the normal arrival time of 2PM on Friday unless otherwise specified. Head Coaches are required to check in at the Sports Academy Office (first building on right) upon arrival and prior to your team members moving into your cabin.

All summer teams should be prepared to play as early as 2PM on Friday.

Lakefront & Other Activities

Lakefront swimming and boating are a fun part of our weekend tournaments.  Lifeguards are on duty and we ask all coaches to assist with supervising your team at the lake.  Lakefront times are assigned for Saturdays so that all teams have the opportunity to access the lake in a safe and manageable environment.

Basketball games,  Raffle-ball games, and a campfire by the lake are also popular with the teams.

Admission Required

Tournament admission for adults / parents is $12 per person purchased in advance on-line, or $15 per person at the gate, for the weekend.  Admission for kids is free.  Tournament passes can be purchased online or upon arrival when parking.
