TWORIG ADVANCES TO PITCH, HIT &
RUN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY AT FENWAY
HINSDALE, Mass. (Thursday, June 16, 2005) -
Local boy Steve Tworig will
compete at Fenway Park on Saturday in the Team
Championship round of the
Pepsi Major League Baseball PITCH, HIT & RUN
competition.
Tworig was the all-around winner of the 9 &
10-year-old division in a first
round qualifier held at the Dan Duquette Sports
Academy in Hinsdale in
April. He then placed among the top four at the
Sectional Finals in Dracut,
Mass. on June 4.
The top 16 Team Championship scorers in each
division from contests at Major
League Baseball stadiums will advance to the
National Finals, to be held in
Detroit, Mich. during the 2005 MLB All-Star
Week. The All-Star Game is on
July 12.
Tworig a regular baseball camper at the Dan
Duquette Sports Academy, will be
introduced to the Fenway crowd prior to Saturday
night's Boston Red Sox game
against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:05 p.m.
