Girls' Baseball Academy - July 15 - 20, 2012In 2010, Baseball For All held the Girls International Baseball Academy at Dan Duquette Sports Academy (MA). Twenty-five girls came from across the U.S., Canada, and Indonesia to attend the academy. ESPN filmed our girls at the 2010 Girls International Academy. The 2012 program has been expanded to a full week long program from July 15 - 20, 2012.
The Academy includes, instruction, game play, and mental skills training. In addition, all players receive basic umpire training. The staff includes many of the best female coaches and umpire instructors in the country.
The academy will be held from July 15-20, 2012 and is for players of all skill levels, from ages 11 to adult. Boys and girls are welcome to attend. The days are filled with game play, instructional sessions, and inspiring activities. The coaching staff is filled with women who have played baseball and know what it takes to continue playing baseball with the boys. So whether it is to play for your national baseball team or your middle school team, the academy will help you on your dream path to baseball glory.

Combining fun with hard work and expert instruction is the academy way. Days are filled with tournament play, instructional sessions, and inspiring activities.
Game Play: Each afternoon, the players will be divided into teams and will play a baseball game. Parents are welcome to watch their child play.
Instruction: Players will attend seven instructional session. These classes will include groups lessons in: pitching, fielding, base running, catching, and more. Players will round out their baseball skills, by participating in an introductory umpire clinic. Players will be able to choose many of their classes based on the daily schedule offered. Classes are divided by skill level and age.
Evening Sessions: Evening sessions are designed to inspire our players. Academy coaches will share their baseball challenges and triumphs with our players. Players will have a chance to ask and share with our instructors. In additional to the inspiring stories, the girls will participate in fun activities such as: Crazy Olympics, a bonfire, and an outing to a minor league game.
Parent Session: Parents will learn what baseball options are available to their daughters and how best to support their daughter's dreams. This is an optional program.
The FacilityThe Baseball For All Girl's Academy is located at the Dan Duquette Sports Academy in Hinsdale, Massachusetts. BFA is renting Duquette's beautiful facilities in order to create the unique experience of an all girls’ baseball camp. Duquette is a former General Manger for the Boston Red Sox.
The facility has 22 well-manicured acres of fields and athletic facilities, surrounded by 100 wooded acres. The facility is a state-of-the-art sports training facility modeled on those built for Major League teams. BFA Academy players will stay in wood cabins and eat at the on-site cafeteria. Basketball courts are available for use during free time. Supervised lakefront activities are also available (bring your bathing suit!).
Role models are essential when following a dream. Leading by example, all of our women are currently playing or coaching baseball. We also have experienced female umpires umpiring our tournament games and leading our umpire instructional programs. Our Directors are dedicated to the growth of girls baseball around the world and have the experience to facilitate this growth. All of our coaches, umpires, and directors are driven by passion and a love for baseball and they all want our academy participants have the time of their lives.
The academy is for players of all skill levels, from ages 9 to women. Age groups are based on players age as of May 1, 2012.Players may play up or down an age group based on skill level (as determined by Academy staff). 
The academy tuition is as follows:
10u: Stay off-site with parents (includes lunch)
Cost: $330
11+: Stay on-site at the Sports Academy
Cost: $630
All academy registrations are submitted through the Dan Duquette Sports Academy website. Registration will open in January. Once you register, you will receive a welcome packet via email with details of academy life, including what bring, where parents can stay, and other useful information to make this week an incredible one. Please note that players 10u sleep off-site, while all players 11-adult, will sleep on-site.
